Minion Phil

Well... I've said that I wanted to try my hands at making Phil. Here he is. He's about 12cm tall. It's kinda tricky making this as there are many parts to assemble. Really took a long time to complete this. Hope that you all will like it.

I make his eyes from felt this time. Just love the lace top on his head. A bit funny and cute at the same time.

I must say that the characters from Despicable Me movie is everlasting. Until now, still many request for these tiny yellow cuties. Phil already been sold. :)

Here's little Agnes doll. She's about 20cm tall. Isn't she cute. Just posted this on FB and she's already been adopted. She will be a lovely companion to a lucky girl.

Minions Ever After

The Minion craze is still around... even though the screening of the movie is over. The free Minion toys in McDonald's Happy Meal has sold out within hours. People lining up as early as 9pm just to get a chance to purchase these toys (opens at12am).

 

I have to say...honestly... these little yellow guys are really CUTE ! If I'm not mistaken, they have different versions of minions sold around the world. These guys are even more popular than the previous Hello Kitty craze.

I am sad to say that I didn't even get a chance to get even 1pc of these cuties. My kids were upset.  Happy Meal isn't happy anymore. So... I had decided to crochet my own. 

Here's my version of the minions. It turns out that many of my FB friends like them too and orders were pouring in for these guys. Just finished a couple of batches for delivery. Phew.... :)

Next... I'm going to try my hands at making another version. This...

Mini Wedding Bouquet

Hi there. I've been crocheting quite a number of wedding doll set. Here's my latest set ordered by my friend for her sister's wedding.

Today I just want to share with you a simple tutorial on making a mini bouquet for your dolls.

Materials :
-Felt for the flowers and leaves
-3 pcs of pearl beads
-Lace
-Craft Wire

Step 1: Cut a small piece of felt of 8cm x 8cm. Then cut in spiral like the picture shown.

Step 2: Twirl the felt starting from the outer circle right to the end. It's the same techniques use for making paper roses.

Step 3: After finishing, apply glue at the back of the rose to stick it in place.

Step 4: Using a small piece of craft wire (5cm), insert the wire from the bottom of the rose and up. Slide in a pearl bead and bend the end of the wire inward to secure the bead.

Step 6: Apply a bit of glue to the end of the bead and pull down the wire. Now, the bead will stick to the rose nicely.

Step 7: Repeat this process to make another 2 more roses.

Step 8: I cut some scrap lace about 18cm long. Fold it in half and sew the ends together.

Step 9 : Sew a gather stitch at the end of the lace and gather up.

Step 10 : Take all 3pieces of roses and twist the wires together. Put the roses in the center of the lace and stitch the ends tightly together.

Add some cut out green felt leaves and you're done !

Amigurumi Doll

Good morning friends.Let me show you this doll that I had custom made for a friend. My friend Iris requested that I make a doll for Pauline's son Troy. Troy loves his duckie blanket. Our friend Pauline is currently living in Alaska.

Well... I have to admit that this is a great challenge. Well.... it took me quite some time to get the doll done. I posted it to Iris and she posted it to Pauline. I'm so excited to know their reaction. She received the doll a few days ago and they loved it !

Here's a look at the doll that I had completed. Took me some time to finish his hair.

Here's Troy doll with his favourite Duckie blanket. Hehehe... I do like the duckie face.
Pauline took a picture of Troy holding this toy and guess what.... they do look the same !  Come visit me at my Facebook page and you can see the resemblance. :)

Kewpie Doll

Hi friends ! I am so excited when I saw this doll. I'm sure some of you remember this doll. Most people have it hanging in their cars in the old days. Let me show you.

It's Kewpie Doll or Cupie Doll. This doll is 5 inches tall, and the dolls in yester years is smaller... maybe around 3 inches only. I'm excited just looking at it. I crochet a set of clothes and a cute little cap for my doll. Can't be having her naked right? He he he...Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy !

Here's my trial in making a clown. Took me 3 days to complete. I glued on a mini decorated clothes pin to clip on notes. Perfect for a birthday gift. He's about 5 inches tall. Anyone interested please e-mail me.

Korean Girl Doll

Just finished my doll yesterday night. I was so eager to get it done. Her hair was a tricky part. Had to weave the yarn to make it look realistic. Took a lot of patience but the results was great. Made her a little simple Korean dress and she's cute to go.
